REPRESENTATIVE PROFILE

Masahiro Okabe

President & CEO, eEntry Corporation / The Pro-Patient CEO

Born in Aichi Prefecture in 1966. After graduating from Soka University's Faculty of Business Administration, Okabe joined Andersen Consulting (now Accenture) in 1990. Over the following decade, he collaborated with teams across more than 20 countries, building deep expertise in internet and mobile solutions, software internationalization, localization, project management, and cross-industry partnerships.

In December 2000, he co-founded eEntry Corporation as a joint venture between SoftBank and Accenture, serving as President & CEO from day one (later taking the company private through an MBO). eEntry has since supported US, Israeli, and Korean tech ventures in entering the Japanese market, and guided Japanese companies in expanding across Asia and beyond — from strategy through execution.

In 2010, Okabe became a partner at Social Venture Partners Tokyo, while serving as an advisor to NPO CrossFields and as a board member of NPO Rebit, deeply engaged in nurturing the next generation of social entrepreneurs. He has since led several ventures: CEO of blockchain startup Orb, co-founder of children's food welfare platform "Gigi," and President & CEO of Tokyo Stock Exchange Prime-listed SystemSoft Corporation.

A diagnosis of Stage 4 overlapping cancers became a turning point. After surviving his most profound personal challenge, Okabe committed himself to healthcare and wellness — not just as a patient, but as a builder of solutions. In August 2025, he joined the board of WelFort Inc. to lead its wellness business. Drawing from his lived experience, he champions Iris Cancer Mutual Aid and shares patient-centered perspectives on X and note.

The Pro-Patient CEO

"The Pro-Patient CEO" — it is a mission Okabe gave himself after surviving Stage 4 overlapping cancers. Facing two simultaneous diagnoses, he saw with painful clarity the structural problems embedded in Japan's healthcare system.

Information asymmetry. Patients with too few options. The crushing weight of financial burden. For Okabe, these were not just personal frustrations — they were business problems waiting to be solved. By combining the strategic mindset he honed at Accenture with the firsthand experience of being a patient, he is building solutions that no one else could.

Through X and note, he shares real information about treatment options, the true cost of cancer care, and what patients have a right to know. Through Iris Cancer Mutual Aid and WelFort, he is dismantling the financial barriers that force patients to compromise on the care they deserve.

"I want to use the power of business to end the loneliness of being a patient.
That is the most important work I do today."

🩺 Real Experience as a Patient
A Stage 4 dual-cancer diagnosis gave Okabe a deep, insider understanding of Japan's healthcare system — including what it truly fails to provide. He knows what patients actually need because he lived it.
📣 Sharing on X and note

💡 Solving Healthcare with Business
Over 35 years of executive experience and a global network spanning 20+ countries — applied to build wellness businesses and cancer mutual aid that address healthcare as a solvable problem.
🌸 The Birth of Iris Cancer Mutual Aid
"If only something like this had existed back then." From that regret came Iris — a mutual aid product designed by a trusted partner company, built around Okabe's experience. Full cost coverage, including advanced therapies.
